Caprese Salad


Ingredients

Tomato (large)

Virgin olive oil

Balsamic vinegar

1 ½ tbs

Mozzarella cheese (slices)

Slices

Basil leaves (sliced)

Salt + pepper

To taste

Table spoon

1. Mise en place all ingredients, stations, equipment and utensils

2. Slice tomato about 1 cm thick and arrange on plate

3. Slice thin discs of mozzarella cheese and place on each tomato

4. Top with spring of basil

5. Mix olive oil and balsamic together

6. Pour over tomatoes

7. Add salt and pepper to taste

Chef’s tip

Very attractive, simple, quick and elegant first course on a hot summer/spring day

Serve with red wine and grilled fish or pasta
